Roald Dahl Day falls on the 13th September each year, Roald Dahl’s birthday. This year it coincides with Friday 13th; therefore it is the perfect excuse to splash out and purchase some of our brand new Roald Dahl fabrics including Matilda and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Roald Dahl is the best selling children’s author of classic books which include The BFG, James and the Giant Peach, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and many more. He was born in Wales to Norwegian parents on September 13th 1916.
His fist book was published in 1943 named The Gremlins, this was a picture book adapted from a script written for Disney. Roald then put a halt on writing children’s novels and carried on with his short stories for adults with devilish twists in the tale until 1960 when he began writing children’s novels again with James and the Giant Peach.
