Long single beds provide extra legroom without taking up the width of a double bed, but their non-standard length can make fitted sheets difficult to find. Standard UK single mattresses are normally around 190cm long, while long single mattresses can be 200cm, 210cm or longer.

Choosing the Correct Fitted Sheet Depth

Measure from the bottom of the mattress to its highest point. If you sleep with a mattress topper, include the topper in the measurement.

The fitted sheet needs enough fabric to cover the mattress depth and tuck underneath securely. Choosing by mattress depth rather than simply selecting the deepest available sheet usually gives the best result.
