A UK single is 3ft (36in) wide and usually 6ft 3" (75") long. Large single beds are slightly longer and larger, ranging from 3ft 3in (100cm) wide to 3ft 6" (42" or about 107cms). They're great if you want a single size bed with a bit more room or with more length so your feet don't stick out! Many adjustable beds are made to this size as well as zip and link beds (where the beds can be joined to make a 6ft 6" or 7ft bed).
Why do I need a small double duvet?
Standard single duvets are made for up to 36" wide beds and are not big enough for anything wider. Large single duvets measure 60" wide x 86" long so they can accommodate beds the larger single beds and not look out of place or too small when the bed is dressed.
But where can I get a cover to fit?
No problem. We make a great range of large single duvet covers cut from the roll in 50/50 and 100% cottons. Our thread counts range from 200, 400 & up to 1000 and come in a range of plain and patterned fabrics, so we can cater to whatever your taste.
