Emperor bed sheets made for a better fit
A standard Emperor mattress is approximately 200 x 200cm, making it 20cm wider than a UK super king. A super king fitted sheet is therefore too narrow and may pull away from the corners, strain the seams or fail to tuck securely beneath the mattress.

Choose the correct Emperor fitted-sheet size

A 200 x 215cm sheet and a 215 x 200cm sheet describe the same rectangular surface dimensions, although we normally state the mattress width first. Check both measurements carefully when comparing products.

How to measure for a deep Emperor fitted sheet
A correctly sized fitted sheet needs to match three measurements: width, length and depth. The mattress depth is particularly important because modern Emperor mattresses may include pillow tops or substantial comfort layers.
- Remove the duvet, sheets and mattress protector.
- Measure the mattress across its widest point.
- Measure from the head to the foot of the mattress.
- Measure vertically from the bottom seam to the highest point.
- Include a mattress topper if it always remains beneath the fitted sheet.
Do not select a pocket that is exactly the same as the mattress depth without checking how the product is made. A fitted sheet needs enough additional fabric to turn beneath the mattress and allow the elasticated hem to grip securely.
Example: If the mattress is 200 x 200cm and measures 32cm deep, select the 200 x 200cm sheet and choose a depth option that provides sufficient fabric for the mattress and tuck-under allowance.
