How to Measure an Adjustable-Bed Mattress

Bed names such as single, small double and split king are useful, but they do not always tell you the exact mattress dimensions. Measure each mattress directly before placing your order.

1. Lower the bed until the mattress is flat.
2. Measure the width from one side of the mattress to the other.
3. Measure the length from the head end to the foot end.
4. Measure the mattress depth from the top sleeping surface to the bottom edge.
5. Measure each side separately if your bed has two independent mattresses.
6. Include any mattress topper when calculating the required fitted-sheet depth.

Do not measure the outer bed frame or upholstered base. Bedding needs to fit the mattress itself.
