2ft 6 beds can be a great small single bed where a standard single might be to wide, they are also a popular size for zip and link beds where 2 x 2ft 6in beds are fixed together to make a 5ft king bed.  This size is also popular with adjustable beds, again as a small single or with 2 beds making a king where each mattress can move independently of the other.
