Emma Bridgewater, the designer synonymous with colourful, beautiful yet iconic kitchenware has moved away from creating pottery and moved into the bedroom.
Back in 1985, Bridgewater’s design business came about as a result of Emma’s own failed search for the ideal present for her mum. She quickly realised the pottery for which she was searching – useful while still charming and lovely – was simply not available, and so she created it herself. Initially dubbed “pottery for the relaxed, colourful, mismatched life” Emma Bridgewater and her husband Matthew Rice work to design items that are inspired by life – warm and colourful, practical and beautiful.
